Our school motto Habeo ut Dem means ‘I have that I may give’
Our girls recognise how fortunate they are and we actively encourage them to give back to the wider community – local, national and international – on a regular basis.
Our girls recognise how fortunate they are and we actively encourage them to give back to the wider community – local, national and international – on a regular basis.
All girls are encouraged to volunteer and we invite local prep and primary schools to Tudor for a range of events, enabling the wider community to benefit from our facilities and support.
Our links with organisations overseas have seen pupils visit Asia, Africa and Europe, offering the girls an opportunity to make a difference to young people around the world. Our chosen partners include the Sparrow Foundation in Johannesburg, Feeding Dreams in Cambodia, the HEAL Paradise School in India and The Lads and Girls Club in Bolton, Lancashire.
Our Charity Committee is led by a group of volunteers from LVI who arrange one-off events to support the school charity including sports matches, bake sales and a charity ball. Each year the whole school elects a new charity of the year to support.
Habeo ut Dem becomes second nature to our girls, and we take pleasure in seeing Old Tudorians continue to give back throughout their future lives and careers. Follow #HabeoUtDem on Twitter to keep up to date with our community events.
“The girls in the sixth form are the role models for the rest of the school and as such they live by the school motto ‘Habeo ut Dem’. The importance of charity and outreach at Tudor is reflected in the fact that we dedicate one of the most senior prefect roles solely on charity. The girls support local schools and other organisations such as Banbury Heights in weekly volunteering as well as taking on bigger projects including the community arts project and more recently the Food4Heros project.
The girls also support those in need further afield and have recently been working with Missing Maps. Missing Maps is a collaborative project in which you help to map areas where humanitarian organisations are trying to meet the needs of vulnerable people who are literally ‘missing’ from any map. This is just a few of the projects the girls are involved in as true to the Tudor spirit the girls are always seeking their own opportunities to help others and as such there is a large number or smaller efforts that are always ongoing.”
